Our Story
It all began in 2009 when the Rodriguez family decided to share the bold, vibrant flavors they had grown up with in their home kitchen. With a deep love for authentic Mexican cuisine and a small dining room on Colorado Blvd, Cafe Rio opened its doors to Glendale — and never looked back.
What started as a neighborhood secret quickly became a community institution. Our caferio philosophy is simple: every dish should taste like it was made with intention, using ingredients sourced fresh daily. We never cut corners on flavor, and we never will.
Over 15 years later, Cafe Rio has served tens of thousands of guests, expanded our menu to over 80 items, and built a team that feels like family — because to us, it truly is.

The Rodriguez family opens Cafe Rio at 610 S Colorado Blvd with a modest 12-table dining room and a menu of 20 lovingly crafted dishes.
Growing demand led to our first major renovation — doubling seating capacity and introducing our now-iconic weekend brunch menu.
Cafe Rio catering services launch, bringing authentic Mexican flavors to corporate events, weddings, and private gatherings across Colorado.
